Synopsis

Caleb Doorn, in “The Silent Outcast", is better known by his Blackfoot name, Many Coups. Doorn is scouting for the US Army in the Mexican campaign when a small wagon train passes on its way to California. Their trek will take them into Indian country, and to protect the train from attack, the wagon master has foolishly taken a young Blackfoot woman hostage.
“Guns in the Desert” is set in the town of Singing Springs, New Mexico Territory. Johnny Wilton, youngest member of the Wilton gang, is shot and killed while attempting to set fire to the town. The gang intends to attack the town and kill everyone in it. Sheriff Jess Wright knows full well that in trying to protect Singing Springs from destruction, all of the advantages rest with the Wilton gang.
