Born into the London Irish community, Bridget Whelan joined the Daily Mirror at the age of 20 and in her long career replied to the lovelorn and researched miscarriages of justice. Bridget was awarded a prestigious Arts Council grant to complete her debut novel. Now back at her old college as a lecturer, Bridget also teaches creative writing. She met her husband at the Daily Mirror when they were both trade union officials. They now live on the south coast with two handsome sons and a fat cat.
