O'Donovan, Gerard

Gerard O’Donovan is a journalist and thriller writer, born in Cork, raised in Dublin, living in Suffolk and well known as a TV critic for The Daily Telegraph. Having been shortlisted for a Crime Writers’ Association Debut Dagger award, his novel THE PRIEST - the first in a Dublin-based crime series featuring Irish cop Mike Mulcahy and reporter Siobhan Fallon - was published internationally in 2010. The second book in the series DUBLIN DEAD followed in 2012. Inspired by a fascination with early Hollywood THE LONG SILENCE is the first in a new series of historical crime thrillers set in 1920s Los Angeles featuring Irish-American private eye Tom Collins and set around the real-life unsolved murder of leading silent-movie director William Desmond Taylor in 1922.
