Blythe, Ronald

Ronald Blythe likens the writing of Akenfield to "making a strange journey of a familiar land", as he was born in a Suffolk village and has lived in East Anglia ever since he became a full-time writer in 1955. His first novel was published in 1960 and he has written many short stories and literary criticisms. His work has been published abroad and he has contributed to several BBC television programmes.
