Bishop, Curtis

Curtis Bishop was born in Tennessee in 1912, later attending the University of Texas, where he was twice editor of the student magazine and sports reporter for the student newspaper. After this he continued to work for different newspapers, but also became widely recognised for his books on sports and for his western novels, at least six of which were made into motion pictures. He also wrote magazine articles and a television play, alongside his career Texas as an administrative assistant for the General Land Office of in their public relations department. He died of a heart attack in 1967 and was buried in Austin Memorial Park.
