Andrew Taylor has written over twenty books, including his celebrated Dougal series and the recent Roth Trilogy of psychological thrillers. He is perhaps best known for his continuing Lydmouth series of crime novels set in the 1950s on the Anglo-Welsh borders. The series paints a vivid portrait of a provincial community in a time of change and also traces the progress of a love affair. Andrew Taylor's first novel, Caroline Minuscule, won the John Creasey Award of the Crime Writers' Association and was shortlisted for an Edgar. One of his latest novels, The Office of the Dead, won the CWA's Historical Dagger. He has also been shortlisted for the Gold Dagger, for crime novelist of the year.
