Leslie Thomas was born in Newport, Monmouthshire in 1931, the son of a sailor who was lost at sea. His boyhood in a Barnado’s orphanage is described in his best selling autobiography, 'This Time Next Week'. He is the author of numerous other best sellers including 'The Virgin Soldiers', 'Arrivals and Departures' and the Dangerous Davies titles. He lives in Salisbury with his wife, Diana.
