Reginald Hill was brought up in Cumbria to which he has returned after many years in Yorkshire, the setting for his crime novels featuring Andy Dalziel and Peter Pascoe. Recently awarded the Crime Writers’ Association Cartier Diamond Dagger for his lifetime contribution to the genre. Hill says he hopes that this is a bit premature and the best is yet to come!
