S. T. Haymon is the author of numerous crime novels and won the Crime Writers’ Association Silver Dagger Award in 1983 for her novel Ritual Murder. She is also the author of two volumes of autobiography, a historical novel and biographies of Bonnie Prince Charlie and Monmouth. 'Death of a Hero' is the eighth and last of the Ben Jurnet crime novels. She died in October 1995.
