Emma Drummond was born in a military hospital into a large army family. She spent her early childhood in Hong Kong, where her father was stationed, and has travelled extensively. Before her marriage to a senior civil servant, she served as an officer in the W.R.A.C. She has written ten previous novels, including 'A Question of Honour', the first volume in the Knightshill trilogy. Under the pen name Elizabeth Darrell, she is also the author of six historical sagas. She lives on the edge of the New Forest.
