As a highly successful actress, working in both comedy and drama, Celia Imrie has appeared in many theatre, television and film productions. She is probably best known for her role in The Riff Raff Element and her appearances with Victoria Wood. Her many television credits include Shoestring, The New Statesman, Old Flames, Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, Lovejoy, The Darling Buds of May, Van Der Valk, Victoria Wood As Seen on TV, Pat and Margaret and the cult comedy Absolutely Fabulous. Among her theatre credits are When I Was a Girl I Used to Scream and Shout at the Bush Theatre, School for Wives and Yerma at the National Theatre, Hanover Square and In Pursuit of the English at the Lyric Studio Theatre, Hammersmith and The Sea at the Royal National Theatre, London. Film credits include Highlander, Frankenstein and In the Bleak Midwinter.
