Born in 1956, Tim Pears grew up in Devon, left school at 16 and worked in a wide variety of jobs: farm labourer, nurse in a mental hospital, pianist's bodyguard, painter and decorator, video maker, college night porter, art gallery manager, and others. He studied Film Direction at the National Film and Television School. Tim is married with two children and lives in Oxford.
