Peter Kerr was born in Lossiemouth in Scotland, but since his early childhood has lived off and on in East Lothian. After leaving school, Peter joined the Civil Service as an Executive Officer. In the early 60's he moved to London to be a professional jazz musician, touring with the Clyde Valley Stompers. In the early 80's, Peter and his wife turned to farming. They have now retired and live back in East Lothian.
