Synopsis
How much - or how little - does it take to make a man kill?
Hugh Freyl is the most respected lawyer in Springfield, Illinois. That he is blind only enhances his reputation for truth and integrity. But late one night, he is beaten to death. David Marion is the only obvious suspect: a convicted killer from the wrong side of the tracks. But things are not always as they seem. The Freyls appear almost too keen to send David to death row. Hugh’s successor is certainly too pleased to be the head of the firm. And David’s desperate attempts to prove his innocence lead him into a world of ruthless political ambition.
