Crime & Mystery
Synopsis
When Jonas Pickett, solicitor and commissioner of oaths, left London to set up a modest office in the quiet Sussex resort of Shackleton, he may have been on the wrong side of sixty but he was definitely not going to retire. With the support of ex-circus strongman Sam as general factotum, his partner Samantha, and secretary Claire, Jonas soon finds he has more clients than he can handle. A variety of cases involve him with IRA thugs at gunpoint, an irate bull, high-pressure salesmen, something unpleasant on the pier ghost train, a funfair villain, a brace of mysteriously unmysterious deaths, and an invasion.`

Herring on the Nile - L. C. Tyler
In an effort to rejuvenate his flagging career, novelist Ethelred Tressider embarks on a "research trip" to Egypt. No sooner has the cruise on the Nile begun, however, than events quickly unravel: an attempt is made on Ethelred's life; the boat's engine explodes, and a passenger is found murdered. As the boat drifts out of control, suspicion falls on everyone aboard - including Ethelred.
