Synopsis
With her young son William in her arms, Ellie Berman waits on the dockside in Southampton while her husband Max finalises their immigration papers. She is filled with relief - Max's involvement in a railway strike had led to Ellie and William receiving death threats and her mother's offer of money to get them to England had come just in time. After spending hours on the dockside, Ellie is informed that her husband was last seen boarding a boat returning to New York.
