Adventure
Synopsis
The explosion that rips through the English bookshop in Berlin is no accident. But the bombers are not the Soviet agents who once knew it as Britain's most effective espionage headquarters - or even their successors, the ruthless Russian Mafiozniki whom Peter Ashton has already encountered more than once. Peter Ashton - forgiven for his embarrassing ability to outperform his superior officers - is called urgently back into the Intelligence fold to investigate the outrage and the Islamic fundamentalists who committed it. He finds himself looking for their spokeswoman, a callous ice maiden fluent in both English and German, whose nationality and country of origin are unwittingly protected by a friendly Intelligence agency. The search for the terrorists, whose ultimate aim is to drive the Israelis from the Middle East, leads from Berlin to Russia and on to Marseilles. But in the end, their major target lies in the American mid-west and their principal allies are a group of disparate Americans. And Peter Ashton is probably the only man who can stop them. You May Also Be Interested In...
