Crime & Mystery
Synopsis
In the past: a man crawls desperately through a claustrophobic escape tunnel beneath a POW camp in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Above, a shadow passes across the moon; ahead, only death awaits him. In the present: local journalist Philip Dryden is reporting on an archaeological dig at the old POW camp when a body is uncovered. But there is something odd – the man appears to have been shot in the head and the position indicates that he was trying to get into the camp, not escape it. It’s a puzzle that excites Dryden far more than it does the archaeologists and the police. That is, until a second, more recent body is discovered . . .You May Also Be Interested In...

Herring on the Nile - L. C. Tyler
In an effort to rejuvenate his flagging career, novelist Ethelred Tressider embarks on a "research trip" to Egypt. No sooner has the cruise on the Nile begun, however, than events quickly unravel: an attempt is made on Ethelred's life; the boat's engine explodes, and a passenger is found murdered. As the boat drifts out of control, suspicion falls on everyone aboard - including Ethelred.
