Adventure
Synopsis
Britain had an arsenal of terrifying weapons that they couldn't and didn't dare use. But the other side could - and did - just the once. When the Russian Scragg missile with its megaton warhead hit Bristol, it was all over. From the start there were those who accepted the occupation forces without opposition; their pretext was to work for a better society. But for the rest, the Resistance, there was no question of compromise. Their methods were ruthless, bloody and effective; the end justifying the means even if it meant a retaliatory massacre of innocents. For Garnett and Dane, both experts in their own fields, resistance had become a way of life. Hounded by the Russians, distrusted by the passive collaborators, ruthlessly used by their own people, they played a solitary game; they played it without rules and against inhuman odds.
