Adventure
Synopsis
Russia, 1919: Lieutenant Commander Bob Cowan is serving with the Royal Navy in the Black Sea when he is briefed to locate and rescue two British girls, thought to be working as nurses in the White Army. Their parents are anxious, for the Bolsheviks’ treatment of female prisoners is bereft of kindness. But when news of the Front’s collapse reaches the naval authorities, Cowan is already pushing on into the interior. And, despite being uneasily aware of his lack of any relevant training or experience, he penetrates the snowbound killing fields . . .
Intensely exciting, furiously fast-paced, and set in a framework of historical fact, Look to the Wolves is a masterpiece to action and adventure.

In an effort to rejuvenate his flagging career, novelist Ethelred Tressider embarks on a "research trip" to Egypt. No sooner has the cruise on the Nile begun, however, than events quickly unravel: an attempt is made on Ethelred's life; the boat's engine explodes, and a passenger is found murdered. As the boat drifts out of control, suspicion falls on everyone aboard - including Ethelred.
