Synopsis
Peter Ashton - hero of Clive Egleton's widely-praised thrillers 'Hostile Intent', 'A Killing in Moscow' and 'Death Throes' - thinks that he has finished with the twilight world of the SIS. But SIS has not forgotten Ashton. Captain Simon Oakham of the Royal Army Pay Corps has gone A.W.O.L., immediately after a suspicious interview with the security service. Ashton's old boss Victor Hazelwood wants Ashton to track him down. The investigation leads Ashton from a Chechnyan hit-team as it careers lethally through the south of England via two dead Army officers to a long-suppressed murder in Hong Kong. The key to it all is a guilt-ridden embittered woman whose unsuspecting knowledge of a lethal involvement makes her especially vulnerable. His search for her could be equally lethal for Ashton. You May Also Be Interested In...
